Staff Intern(s)
(full- and part-time positions available)

ABI continually accepts resumes for this position and typically has 2-3 interns on staff. The position reports to ABI's Director of Administration and supports all aspects of association operations including Membership, Marketing, Events and Communications.

A typical week would include:

  • Preparation of badge envelopes for an upcoming meeting,
  • Fulfillment of book orders, calls to former members,
  • Prospecting for potential new members,
  • Mailing to potential advertisers or members,
  • Member customer service,
  • Updates to the member database or support of in-house events including greeting attendees and event execution.

 

Following are qualities and skills critical to the successful performance of this position.

  • Ability to work independently on multiple projects
  • Willingness to learn new technology and new skills
  • Friendly, outgoing personality comfortable speaking with members either on the phone or in person
  • Proficiency in MS Office with strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Ability to work on MAC or PC platforms
  • Excellent attention to detail

This is a paid position with an hourly rate of $12-$14 depending on skills and experience.

Web Specialist(s)
(full- and part-time positions available)

ABI is continually accepting resumes for this position. This position works in our Interactive Media & Technology department and has the opportunity to contribute in many areas of our website maintenance, audio/video production and application development depending on your skills.

Following are experience, knowledge and skills critical to the successful performance of this position.

  • Experience with Drupal CMS is required
  • Experience with Adobe Suite
  • Demonstrated interest in social medial trends
  • Knowledge of Google Analytics and SEO preferred
  • Sense of immediacy and difficult deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Proficiency in MS Office with strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Understanding of HTML/XHTML
  • Able to produce table-less layouts using validated CSS
  • Experience with image manipulation (Photoshop) and Adobe Suite CS5 and CS6
  • Ability to work on MAC and PC platforms
  • Editorial common sense and good web writing skills

This is a paid position with an hourly rate of $13-$15 depending on skills and experience.
