ABI marks the new century with another significant milestone: Patricia A. Staiano, U.S. Trustee, Region 3, is the 7000th new member to join ABI. Based in Philadelphia, Staiano represents Region 3, which is comprised of all judicial districts in Delaware, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Appointed by Attorney General Janet Reno in August 1996, she is a graduate of Boston College School of Management and received her B.S. in Finance and Marketing in 1983. She then obtained her J.D. in 1986 from Seton Hall University School of Law.

Prior to law school, Staiano clerked for Hon. William H. Gindin, chief judge for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court (D. N.J.). After finishing her clerkship, she was associated with several law firms in New Jersey, concentrating her practice in bankruptcy and commercial litigation. She represented chapter 11 and chapter 7 debtors and trustees, official committees for unsecured creditors, individual creditors and secured lenders.

Staiano has lectured at numerous seminars, including ABI conferences, on matters such as bankruptcy evidentiary issues, avoidance actions, the interplay between bankruptcy and matrimonial law, bankruptcy fraud, ethics, conflicts, and chapter 11, 7 and 13 issues. She has also testified before congress on chapter 11 matters.

We proudly welcome her, along with all of our new members from November through January!
