CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) Update
Dear ABI Members and Friends:
It is with great sadness that I must announce that ABI is canceling its Annual Spring Meeting, which was to be held April 23-25 in Washington, D.C. Conditions have worsened exponentially in the U.S. in the last week. Since our last announcement, the WHO has declared the coronavirus a pandemic, the United States has declared a national emergency, travel has been restricted, and states have shut down schools and restaurants and banned mass gatherings. We know this conference is meaningful to so many of you, and of course, it is very special to ABI, but the safety of our members and our concern for the global community is our highest priority. We are looking at options to reschedule the Annual Spring Meeting to later in the year. In addition, we are in the process of reviewing ABI's other upcoming conferences to determine whether they can go forward. We will keep everyone apprised of our decisions as we move forward in these uncertain times.
ABI's offices are on mandatory remote work through the end of March, but the entire staff is available to assist you as always. You can reach us by phone at 703-739-0800 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We hope that each of you and your families, friends, and colleagues remain healthy and safe. And as always, thank you for your support of ABI.
