ABI RELEASES THIRD EDITION OF BANKRUPTCY AND INSURANCE LAW MANUAL

August 7, 2009 Alexandria, Va. — The American Bankruptcy Institute has released the Bankruptcy and Insurance Law Manual, Third Edition, to cover the basics of insurance law for the bankruptcy professional, as well as bankruptcy principles for the insurance professional. Written by Susan N.K. Gummowof Clausen Miller P.C. (Chicago), the Manual distinguishes claims in an insurance sense from those under the Bankruptcy Code, and describes the duties of both the insurer and the insured under insurance law. Updated to include new chapters on automotive bankruptcies, insurer's standing and environmental issues in bankruptcy, the Manual also contains a glossary of key bankruptcy and insurance law terms.

Members of the press interested in interviewing the author should contact John Hartgen at 703-894-5935 or [email protected]. The 220-page softbound Bankruptcy and Insurance Law Manual, Third Edition ($25 ABI members; $45 non-members) at ABI's Online Bookstore. Click here to order. http://www.abiworld.org/abistore
