ABI RELEASES UPDATED CREDITORS’ COMMITTEE MANUAL

August 23, 2006, Alexandria, Va. — The American Bankruptcy Institute has released the fifth edition of the Creditors' Committee Manual, which explores the role, function and responsibilities of committees and committee members in nontechnical, easily understood language. The latest revision of the Manual was written to incorporate the new creditors’ committee requirements implemented by the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act of 2005 (BAPCPA).

Joseph S.U. Bodoff of Bodoff & Slavitt LLP (Boston) is the author of the fifth edition of the Creditors’ Committee Manual. He currently serves as the executive editor of the ABI World Website and as co-chair of the ABI Task Force on Bankruptcy Rules. He is a former member of ABI’s Board of Directors and Executive Committee, as well as former co-chair of ABI’s Unsecured Trade Creditor Committee. Under Bodoff’s leadership, ABI completed a two-year project studying the Bankruptcy Code’s preference provisions and three of the recommendations resulting from the study were incorporated into BAPCPA.

The 34-page pamphlet is available for purchase at ABI’s Online Bookstore for $10 ($6 for ABI members). Click here to order.
