Chad Husnick of Kirkland & Ellis LLP Selected for ABI’s “40 Under 40”

Alexandria, Va. ABI announces that Chad Husnick of Kirkland & Ellis LLP (Chicago) has been selected for ABI’s “40 Under 40,” recognizing 40 of the top insolvency industry professionals under the age of 40. This year’s awardees will be formally recognized at ABI’s 2018 Winter Leadership Conference, taking place Dec. 6-8 at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Husnick is a partner in Kirkland & Ellis LLP’s Restructuring Practice Group and represents debtors, creditors, equityholders and other stakeholders in all aspects of corporate restructuring, bankruptcy and insolvency proceedings. Notable clients include Toys “R” Us, American Tire Distributors, Energy Future Holdings, Cobalt Energy, C&J Energy, General Growth Properties, Strategic Hotels & Resorts and United Airlines.

Most recently, Law360 selected Husnick as one of five Bankruptcy “Rising Stars for 2018” in its list of top attorneys under 40, he was recognized in the 2017-18 editions of Chambers USA, and he was listed in the 2017 edition of Chicago Daily Law Bulletin and Chicago Lawyer’s “40 Attorneys Under Forty.” In addition, The American Lawyer named him “Dealmaker of the Year - 2016” for his role in the Energy Future Holdings restructuring, and he was named “Outstanding Young Restructuring Lawyer - 2017” by Turnarounds &Workouts.

Husnick is a Lecturer in the Law at the University of Chicago Law School and a contributing author for Collier on Bankruptcy.

The “40 Under 40” winners are distinguished by professional achievements and service and were selected by a group of experienced professionals from ABI’s current leadership. Nominations were submitted via the initiative’s website, through which professionals nominated themselves or a colleague. Membership in ABI was not required, and more than 200 candidates were evaluated. Those selected were chosen from both large and small firms from every region of the country, and represent diverse practice areas such as law, finance, accounting, consulting, academia, government and more.
