Christopher T. Greco of Kirkland & Ellis LLP Selected as One of ABI’s 2019 “40 Under 40”

Alexandria, Va. ABI announces that Christopher T. Greco of Kirkland & Ellis LLP (New York) has been selected as one of ABI’s “40 Under 40,” ABI’s annual program that recognizes 40 of the top insolvency industry professionals under the age of 40. Honorees will be recognized at a special ceremony during ABI’s 2019 Winter Leadership Conference, taking place Dec. 5-7 at the Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.

Greco is a partner in the Restructuring Practice Group of Kirkland & Ellis LLP in New York, where his practice involves representing debtors (including portfolio, privately held and public companies), equity owners, creditors’ committees and distressed investors (including hedge funds and private-equity funds) in acquisitions, out-of-court restructurings and chapter 11 cases. He also advises boards of directors and senior management of financially troubled companies regarding fiduciary duties and corporate governance.

Greco has received recognition from a number of prominent legal publications, including Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business. He was named one of Law360’s “Rising Stars for 2019,” and in 2018, he was named an “Outstanding Young Restructuring Lawyer” by Turnarounds & Workouts, one of 12 individuals selected under the age of 40 for their accomplishments in corporate restructuring.

Greco has been active in various teaching and pro bono activities, serving as an adjunct professor at Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and Wake Forest University School of Law, where he has taught courses on distressed investing. He also has performed substantial pro bono work for charities such as Youth, I.N.C. and the Legacy of Hope Foundation. Greco received his J.D. cum laude from Wake Forest University School of Law in 2007 and his B.S. cum laude from Villanova University in 2004.

The “40 Under 40” winners are distinguished by professional achievements and service and were selected by a group of experienced professionals from ABI’s current leadership. Nominations were submitted via the initiative’s website, through which professionals nominated themselves or a colleague. Membership in ABI was not required, and more than 350 candidates were evaluated. Those selected were chosen from both large and small firms from every region of the country, and represent diverse practice areas such as law, finance, accounting, consulting, academia, government and more.
