Gregory W. Fox of Goodwin Procter LLP Selected as One of ABI’s 2019 “40 Under 40”

Alexandria, Va. ABI announces that Gregory W. Fox of Goodwin Procter LLP (New York) has been selected as one of ABI’s “40 Under 40,” ABI’s annual program that recognizes 40 of the top insolvency industry professionals under the age of 40. Honorees will be recognized at a special ceremony during ABI’s 2019 Winter Leadership Conference, taking place Dec. 5-7 at the Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.

Fox is a partner in Goodwin Procter LLP’s Financial Restructuring practice in New York, having joined the firm in 2014. His practice covers all matters involving distressed companies, including representing corporate debtors, equity sponsors, secured and unsecured creditors, asset-purchasers, tort plaintiffs, and other stakeholders in large and complex bankruptcy proceedings, out-of-court financial restructurings, assignments for the benefit of creditors, commercial financing transactions, commercial litigation, and distressed-debt investments. Fox's practice spans a wide variety of industries, including consumer products, financial services, retail, pharmaceuticals and health care, technology, automotive, telecommunications and education.

Fox was selected as a 2017 “Rising Star in Bankruptcy” by Super Lawyers and was selected to participate in the National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges (NCBJ) Next Generation Program in 2014. In 2019, he was honored by the Turnaround Management Association (TMA) for his work as counsel for client Gibson Brands, Inc. in its chapter 11 restructuring, which TMA named Mid-Size Company Transaction of the Year. Fox received his J.D. magna cum laude from Brooklyn Law School in 2006 and his B.S. from Cornell University in 2002.

The “40 Under 40” winners are distinguished by professional achievements and service and were selected by a group of experienced professionals from ABI’s current leadership. Nominations were submitted via the initiative’s website, through which professionals nominated themselves or a colleague. Membership in ABI was not required, and more than 350 candidates were evaluated. Those selected were chosen from both large and small firms from every region of the country, and represent diverse practice areas such as law, finance, accounting, consulting, academia, government and more.
