Jeffrey Dutson of King & Spalding LLP Selected as One of ABI's 2021 "40 Under 40"

Alexandria, Va. ABI announces that Jeffrey Dutson of King & Spalding LLP (Atlanta) has been selected as one of ABI’s “40 Under 40,” ABI’s annual program that recognizes 40 of the top insolvency industry professionals under the age of 40. The honorees will be recognized at a special ceremony to be held on Dec. 10 at ABI’s 2021 Winter Leadership Conference at Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.

Dutson is a partner at King & Spalding, where his practice focuses on representing banks and other secured lenders in connection with their most complex workouts, restructurings and bankruptcy matters. He also frequently represents corporate debtors in chapter 11 bankruptcy cases throughout the country, as well as buyers and sellers in distressed M&A transactions. Dutson’s practice spans a wide variety of industries, including restaurant, health care, energy, transportation, manufacturing and aviation. He was recognized for his work in Bankruptcy and Restructuring by Chambers USA in 2020 and was selected as a “Rising Star” for Financial Restructuring in IFLR 1000’s Financial & Corporate Guide. He is a Fellow of the American College of Investment Counsel and serves on the advisory board for ABI’s Southeast Bankruptcy Workshop. Originally from Atlanta, Dutson received his B.A. with honors from the University of Georgia and his J.D. with honors from the University of Chicago Law School. Prior to joining the firm, he clerked for Hon. E. Grady Jolly of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.

“The 2021 honorees are a testament to the future of the insolvency profession, with exemplary accomplishments in both their careers and communities,” said ABI Executive Director Amy Quackenboss. “We look forward to this diverse collection of young leaders propelling ABI's full range of activities forward to advance the profession.”

The “40 Under 40” winners are distinguished by professional achievements and service and were selected by a group of experienced professionals from ABI’s current leadership. Nominations were submitted earlier this year by the candidates themselves or by colleagues via the initiative’s website, http://abi40under40.org. More than 200 candidates, each with outstanding records of professional achievement and community leadership, were evaluated by 20 judges. The majority of the applicants were partners, directors or managing directors at their firms.
