Julie A. Cvek Curley of Kirby Aisner & Curley LLP Selected as One of Abi’s 2019 “40 Under 40”

Alexandria, Va. ABI announces that Julie A. Cvek Curley of Kirby Aisner & Curley LLP (Scarsdale, N.Y.) has been selected as one of ABI’s “40 Under 40,” ABI’s annual program that recognizes 40 of the top insolvency industry professionals under the age of 40. Honorees will be recognized at a special ceremony during ABI’s 2019 Winter Leadership Conference, taking place Dec. 5-7 at the Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.

Curley is a partner at Kirby Aisner & Curley LLP in Scarsdale, N.Y., where she represents debtors in areas of corporate and consumer bankruptcy, as well as foreclosure and mortgage defense, mortgage loan modification and real estate. She has more than 15 years of experience in corporate turnarounds, strategic consulting, financial and operational restructurings, and debtor bankruptcy situations, and has worked with small and middle- market companies and their stakeholders. Curley has extensive experience advising companies in complex debt-restructurings, financings and workouts. She has led numerous § 363 asset sale processes in chapter 11 bankruptcy cases and recently became involved in local politics. Curley received her J.D. from the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University in 2004 and her B.A. in psychology from New York University in 2001.

“This 2019 class of honorees is incredibly accomplished and diverse, and well representative of the multidisciplinary nature of our community,” said ABI Executive Director Samuel J. Gerdano. “We look forward to engaging these young leaders in the full range of ABI's activities, in service to the profession.”

The “40 Under 40” winners are distinguished by professional achievements and service and were selected by a group of experienced professionals from ABI’s current leadership. Nominations were submitted via the initiative’s website, through which professionals nominated themselves or a colleague. Membership in ABI was not required, and more than 350 candidates were evaluated. Those selected were chosen from both large and small firms from every region of the country, and represent diverse practice areas such as law, finance, accounting, consulting, academia, government and more.
