Michael Addeo of GSO Capital Partners Selected as One of ABI’s 2019 “40 Under 40”

ABI announces that Michael Addeo of GSO Capital Partners (New York) has been selected as one of ABI’s “40 Under 40,” ABI’s annual program that recognizes 40 of the top insolvency industry professionals under the age of 40. Honorees will be recognized at a special ceremony during ABI’s 2019 Winter Leadership Conference, taking place Dec. 5-7 at the Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.

Addeo is a principal with GSO Capital Partners, the credit investment arm of Blackstone. Since joining GSO Capital in 2011, he has been involved in both debt and equity investments in the U.S. and Europe, with a specific focus on distressed and special-situations investing. Addeo has worked on both bankruptcy and out-of-court matters in a diverse set of industries. He has served in a supporting or lead role in several bankruptcy processes for GSO, including Hexion Inc., Walter Energy, Arch Coal, Caesars, Momentive, AMR Corp., Overseas Shipholding Group and LifeCare. He graduated cum laude with a B.S. in business administration and a double major in finance and accounting from Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business. He is a CFA® Charterholder and previously served on the board of directors of Warrior Met Coal, Inc.

The “40 Under 40” winners are distinguished by professional achievements and service and were selected by a group of experienced professionals from ABI’s current leadership. Nominations were submitted via the initiative’s website, through which professionals nominated themselves or a colleague. Membership in ABI was not required, and more than 350 candidates were evaluated. Those selected were chosen from both large and small firms from every region of the country, and represent diverse practice areas such as law, finance, accounting, consulting, academia, government and more.
