Michael Herz of Fox Rothschild LLP Selected as One of ABI's 2021 "40 Under 40"

Alexandria, Va. ABI announces that Michael Herz of Fox Rothschild LLP (Morristown, N.J.) has been selected as one of ABI’s “40 Under 40,” ABI’s annual program that recognizes 40 of the top insolvency industry professionals under the age of 40. The honorees will be recognized at a special ceremony to be held on Dec. 10 at ABI’s 2021 Winter Leadership Conference at Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.

Herz is a partner at Fox Rothschild LLP, where he centers his practice on complex bankruptcy and insolvency matters. His diverse and dynamic practice includes the representation of chapter 7 and chapter 11 trustees, creditor committees, post-confirmation trusts, individual creditors (including financial institutions, loan servicers and landlords) and debtors in all phases of the bankruptcy process. Prior to joining Fox, Herz was an attorney at a leading insolvency boutique and worked at firms in New Jersey and New York, where he represented clients in both bankruptcy and litigation matters. He is a contributing editor to the ABI Journal and serves on the advisory board for ABI’s Mid-Atlantic Bankruptcy Workshop.

Herz is a member of the Board of Trustees for the Kessler Foundation, a leading organization in researching treatments for spinal and neurological injuries and conditions. He also participates in the annual Duberstein Bankruptcy Moot Court Competition, sponsored by ABI and St. John’s University School of Law, as a brief-grader. He received his J.D. in 2008 from Brooklyn Law School and his B.A. with high honors in 2003 from Brandeis University.

“The 2021 honorees are a testament to the future of the insolvency profession, with exemplary accomplishments in both their careers and communities,” said ABI Executive Director Amy Quackenboss. “We look forward to this diverse collection of young leaders propelling ABI's full range of activities forward to advance the profession.”

The “40 Under 40” winners are distinguished by professional achievements and service and were selected by a group of experienced professionals from ABI’s current leadership. Nominations were submitted earlier this year by the candidates themselves or by colleagues via the initiative’s website, http://abi40under40.org. More than 200 candidates, each with outstanding records of professional achievement and community leadership, were evaluated by 20 judges. The majority of the applicants were partners, directors or managing directors at their firms.
