NEW OFFICERS AND DIRECTORS ELECTED DURING ABI’S 28TH ANNUAL SPRING MEETING

 

May 10, 2010, Alexandria, Va. — The following members of the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI) were elected to leadership positions as officers and directors at ABI’s 28th Annual Spring Meeting, held April 29-May 2 in Washington, D.C.:

Melissa Kibler Knoll of Mesirow Financial Consulting, LLC (Chicago) becomes ABI President for a one-year term, succeeding Robert J. Keach of Bernstein Shur (Portland, Maine), who now assumes the position of Immediate-Past President. Geoffrey L. Berman of Development Specialists, Inc. (Los Angeles) was named President-Elect, to become President in April 2011. John W. Ames of Greenebaum, Doll & McDonald PLLC (Louisville, Ky.) succeeds Reggie Jackson of Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease LLP (Columbus, Ohio) as Chairman of the Board for a one-year term.

Lynnette R. Warman of Hunton & Williams LLP (Dallas) was named to a two-year term as Vice President-Publications, succeeding Berman. Reggie Jackson of Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease LLP (Columbus, Ohio) and Nancy Peterman of Greenberg Traurig LLP (Chicago) were elected to become at-large members of the Executive Committee. Bankruptcy Judge Eugene R. Wedoff (N.D. Ill.; Chicago) was renominated to serve a second two-year term as Vice President-Communication & Information Technology, and James T. Markus of Markus Williams Young & Zimmerman LLC (Denver) was renominated to serve a second two-year term as Vice President — Education. Rebecca A. Roof of AlixPartners LLC (New York) will remain Treasurer and James Patrick Shea of Shea & Carlyon, Ltd. (Las Vegas) will remain Secretary after both were renominated to serve second terms.Jeffrey N. Pomerantz of Pachulski, Stang, Ziehl & Jones LLP (Los Angeles) and John Tittle, Jr. of NHB Advisors (Irving, Texas) were both renominated to serve second two-year terms as at-large members of the Executive Committee.

Seven new members were elected to the ABI Board of Directors: Corinne Ball of Jones Day (New York), Michael L. Bernstein of Arnold & Porter LLP (Washington, D.C.), Deborah A. Crabbe of Foster Pepper PLLC (Seattle, Wash.), Douglas E. Deutsch of Chadbourne & Parke, LLP (New York), Bankruptcy Judge Robert E. Gerber (S.D.N.Y.; New York), Bankruptcy Judge C. Ray Mullins (N.D. Ga.; Atlanta) and Glenn E. Siegel of Dechert LLP (New York). Each will serve a three-year term.
