New Officers and Directors Elected During ABIs 30th Annual Spring Meeting

April 25, 2012, Alexandria, Va. — The following members of the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI) were elected to leadership positions as officers and directors during ABI’s 30th Annual Spring Meeting, held April 19-April 22 in Washington, D.C.: James T. Markus of Markus Williams Young & Zimmerman LLC (Denver) becomes ABI President for a one-year term, succeeding Geoffrey L. Berman of Development Specialists, Inc. (Los Angeles), who now assumes the position of Immediate-Past President. Patricia A. Redmond of Stearns, Weaver, Miller, Weissler, Ahadeff & Sitterson, PA (Miami), formerly ABI Vice President-Development, was named President-Elect to become President in April 2013. Melissa Kibler Knoll of Mesirow Financial Consulting, LLC (Chicago) succeeds Robert J. Keach of Bernstein Shur (Portland, Maine) as Chairman of the Board for a one-year term. Albert Togut of Togut, Segal & Segal, LLP (New York) was elected to serve a two-year term as Vice President-Development to succeed Redmond. John Tittle of Tittle Advisory Group (New York) was named to a two-year term as Treasurer, succeeding Rebecca A. Roof of AlixPartners LLP (New York), who will remain on the ABI Board. Newly named to the 17-member Executive Committee is Nancy B. Rapoport, the Gordon Silver Professor of Law at the William S. Boyd School of law at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas. Four new members were elected to the ABI Board of Directors: Bankruptcy Judge Pamela Pepper (E.D. Wis.; Milwaukee), Douglas L. Lutz of Frost Brown Todd LLC (Cincinnati, Ohio), Ted Gavin of Gavin/Solmonese LLC (Wilmington, Del.) and Michael Fagone of Bernstein Shur (Portland, Maine).
