Nishant Machado of Mackinac Partners Selected for ABI’s “40 Under 40”

Alexandria, Va. ABI announces that Nishant Machado of Mackinac Partners (Santa Monica, Calif.) has been selected for ABI’s “40 Under 40,” recognizing 40 of the top insolvency industry professionals under the age of 40. This year’s awardees will be formally recognized at ABI’s 2018 Winter Leadership Conference, taking place Dec. 6-8 at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Machado is a senior managing director at Mackinac Partners and co-leads its Financial Restructuring and Transaction Advisory practice. He has extensive business, finance and restructuring experience, including positions as CRO, interim CEO, CFO & COO and lead advisor to many turnaround clients, as well as public and private corporations. Machado's recent experience includes being the CRO/CEO in the successful restructuring of Romano's Macaroni Grill and the CEO/CRO at Logan’s Roadhouse, where he guided the company through its restructuring and turnaround.

In addition, Machado has served as financial advisor to several regional homebuilders, lead restructuring advisor to Windsor Steel, CFO/COO to Pacific Monarch Resorts and CRO to Quantum Fuels Systems Technology Worldwide, Inc., as well as financial advisor to a number of lenders.

Machado also founded Great Destinations Inc., a timeshare sales and marketing company he developed, served as CFO and sold to Interval Leisure Group, Inc., a publicly traded company with an enterprise value in excess of $3 billion. He has served on the boards of directors of Native Foods Café, Great Destinations Inc., Sbarro Inc. and Romano’s Macaroni Grill, and in 2013, he received an M&A Advisor 40 under 40 Top Service Provider award.

“The 2018 ABI ‘40 Under 40’ Class is already advancing the bankruptcy profession forward,” said ABI Executive Director Samuel J. Gerdano. “Each of these remarkable young men and women are attaining achievements not just in their professional careers, but also as leaders in their communities.”

The “40 Under 40” winners are distinguished by professional achievements and service and were selected by a group of experienced professionals from ABI’s current leadership. Nominations were submitted via the initiative’s website, through which professionals nominated themselves or a colleague. Membership in ABI was not required, and more than 200 candidates were evaluated. Those selected were chosen from both large and small firms from every region of the country, and represent diverse practice areas such as law, finance, accounting, consulting, academia, government and more.
