Rebecca Redwine of Hendren, Redwine & Malone, PLLC Selected for ABI’s “40 Under 40”

Alexandria, Va. ABI announces that Rebecca Redwine of Hendren, Redwine & Malone, PLLC (Raleigh, N.C.) has been selected for ABI’s “40 Under 40,” recognizing 40 of the top insolvency industry professionals under the age of 40. This year’s awardees will be formally recognized at ABI’s 2018 Winter Leadership Conference, taking place Dec. 6-8 at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Redwine is a partner with Hendren, Redwine & Malone, PLLC, where she focuses on debtor representation in chapter 11 bankruptcies and has served as unsecured creditors’ committee counsel and as an examiner. She also is a councilmember for the North Carolina Bar Association’s Bankruptcy Section and co-chairs its Pro Bono Committee. In addition, she is a board member of the Carolinas Chapter of IWIRC.

Redwine is appointed to the Eastern District of North Carolina Bankruptcy Court’s Local Rules Committee and is a frequent speaker at bankruptcy programs, including ABI’s Southeast Bankruptcy Workshop, the Eastern Bankruptcy Institute and the NCBA Annual Bankruptcy Institute. She has been recognized in North Carolina Super Lawyers as a “Legal Elite” and in The Best Lawyers in America over the past 10 years in the area of Bankruptcy & Creditor/Debtor Rights, having been named “Lawyer of the Year for 2018 Raleigh Litigation – Bankruptcy” in its 24th Edition.

Redwine earned a Phi Beta Kappa key from North Carolina State University, where she received her B.A. in 2004, and was an honor student at the University of North Carolina School of Law, where she received her J.D. in 2007. She lives with her husband and two young boys.

“The 2018 ABI ‘40 Under 40’ Class is already advancing the bankruptcy profession forward,” said ABI Executive Director Samuel J. Gerdano. “Each of these remarkable young men and women are attaining achievements not just in their professional careers, but also as leaders in their communities.”

The “40 Under 40” winners are distinguished by professional achievements and service and were selected by a group of experienced professionals from ABI’s current leadership. Nominations were submitted via the initiative’s website, through which professionals nominated themselves or a colleague. Membership in ABI was not required, and more than 200 candidates were evaluated. Those selected were chosen from both large and small firms from every region of the country, and represent diverse practice areas such as law, finance, accounting, consulting, academia, government and more.
