ROBERT J. KEACH NAMED ABI VICE PRESIDENT OF EDUCATION

May 10, 2006, Alexandria, Va. The American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI) announces that Robert J. Keach of Bernstein Shur (Portland, Maine) was named to a two-year term as Vice President-Education by the ABI Board of Directors. He succeeds Neil P. Olack, who recently sworn in as a bankruptcy judge in Mississippi. A member since 1985, Keach is a member of the ABI Board of Directors and is als a past program chair of ABI’s Northeast Bankruptcy Conference. He is also a member of ABI's Health Care, Finance and Banking and Unsecured Trade Creditors Committees. He is also a contributing editor to the ABI Journal’s “News at 11” column, which covers a variety of chapter 11 case law developments.

Keach, who joined Bernstein Shur in 1994, is chair of the firm’s Business Restructuring and Insolvency Practice Group. His practice focuses on the representation of various parties in workouts and bankruptcy cases including debtors, creditors, creditors’ committees, lessors and third parties acquiring troubled companies and/or their assets. Keach received his J.D. in 1980 from the University of Maine School of Law and his B.A. with highest honors from the University of Vermont in 1977.
