Robert Klamser of Stretto Selected as One of ABI’s 2019 “40 Under 40”

Alexandria, Va. ABI announces that Robert Klamser of Stretto (Denver) has been selected as one of ABI’s “40 Under 40,” ABI’s annual program that recognizes 40 of the top insolvency industry professionals under the age of 40. Honorees will be recognized at a special ceremony during ABI’s 2019 Winter Leadership Conference, taking place Dec. 5-7 at the Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.

As a managing director at Stretto in Denver, Klamser leverages his substantive corporate restructuring expertise with a keen understanding of case-management logistics. He has had operational oversight on more than 100 high-profile restructuring engagements and has effectively managed every facet of the claims, noticing and balloting process. Klamser works directly with corporate debtors and other turnaround professionals across numerous industries and jurisdictions to develop and implement tailored strategies for each case. He also has a strong technical background and collaborates with members of Stretto’s Product Development Team on best-in-class software enhancements geared toward streamlining the administrative process.

Previously, Klamser co-founded UpShot Services LLC in 2012, which offered such industry firsts as electronic claims and ballot filing. UpShot eventually teamed up with Stone Point Capital and became part of legal services company JND. Shortly thereafter, UpShot merged with another Stone Point company, Stretto (formerly Bankruptcy Management Solutions). Prior to co-founding UpShot, Klamser was the director of Corporate Restructuring Services and the former vice president of Operations at one of the nation's largest claims and noticing agents. He received his M.B.A. from Loyola Marymount University in 2008 and his B.A. cum laude from Loyola Marymount University’s College of Business Administration in 2002.

“This 2019 class of honorees is incredibly accomplished and diverse, and well representative of the multidisciplinary nature of our community,” said ABI Executive Director Samuel J. Gerdano. “We look forward to engaging these young leaders in the full range of ABI's activities, in service to the profession.”

The “40 Under 40” winners are distinguished by professional achievements and service and were selected by a group of experienced professionals from ABI’s current leadership. Nominations were submitted via the initiative’s website, through which professionals nominated themselves or a colleague. Membership in ABI was not required, and more than 350 candidates were evaluated. Those selected were chosen from both large and small firms from every region of the country, and represent diverse practice areas such as law, finance, accounting, consulting, academia, government and more.
