Alexandria, Va. ABI announces that Rosa Evergreen of Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer LLP (Washington, D.C.) has been selected for ABI’s “40 Under 40,” recognizing 40 of the top insolvency industry professionals under the age of 40. This year’s awardees will be formally recognized at ABI’s 2018 Winter Leadership Conference, taking place Dec. 6-8 at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Evergreen is a partner with Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer LLP and has experience in all aspects of bankruptcy and corporate restructuring, including complex chapter 11 cases, bankruptcy litigation, out-of-court restructurings and distressed acquisitions. She has been involved in bankruptcy cases in a wide range of industries across the country, including financial services, real estate, environmental, hospitality and health care, among others.

Evergreen has served as co-chair of the firm’s Summer Associate Committee, a member of its Hiring Committee and chair of its Associate Professional Development Committee. She also serves on the boards of IWIRC International and the DC Chapter of IWIRC (of which she formerly co-chaired), as well as TMA’s Chesapeake Chapter.

Evergreen has been recognized in Chambers USA, The Best Lawyers in America, Washington, DC Super Lawyers and Washingtonian Magazine, and she was named one of 12 “Outstanding Young Restructuring Lawyers” by Turnarounds & Workouts for 2017. She also maintains an active pro bono practice and received the DC Bar’s Laura N. Rinaldi Pro Bono Lawyer of the Year Award for 2018.

Evergreen served as a Research Fellow for the ABI Commission to Study the Reform of Chapter 11, has published articles on a number of bankruptcy-related topics, and is a frequent speaker at continuing legal education programs.  

“The 2018 ABI ‘40 Under 40’ Class is already advancing the bankruptcy profession forward,” said ABI Executive Director Samuel J. Gerdano. “Each of these remarkable young men and women are attaining achievements not just in their professional careers, but also as leaders in their communities.”

The “40 Under 40” winners are distinguished by professional achievements and service and were selected by a group of experienced professionals from ABI’s current leadership. Nominations were submitted via the initiative’s website, through which professionals nominated themselves or a colleague. Membership in ABI was not required, and more than 200 candidates were evaluated. Those selected were chosen from both large and small firms from every region of the country, and represent diverse practice areas such as law, finance, accounting, consulting, academia, government and more.
