Ryan J. Dattilo of the U.S. Senate Committee on the Judiciary Selected as One of ABI’s 2019 “40 Under 40”

Alexandria, Va. ABI announces that Ryan J. Dattilo of the U.S. Senate Committee on the Judiciary (Washington, D.C.) has been selected as one of ABI’s “40 Under 40,” ABI’s annual program that recognizes 40 of the top insolvency industry professionals under the age of 40. Honorees will be recognized at a special ceremony during ABI’s 2019 Winter Leadership Conference, taking place Dec. 5-7 at the Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.

Dattilo has served as a counsel to the Senate Judiciary Committee in Washington, D.C., since 2018, where he is the lead counsel responsible for numerous congressional hearings covering bankruptcy and antitrust, including researching and drafting hearing memoranda, selecting and preparing witnesses, briefing Members of Congress and staff regarding hearing topics, preparing opening statements for the Committee, and drafting proposed questions for the hearing witnesses. Prior to joining the staff of the Senate Judiciary Committee, he served as a counsel to the Subcommittee on Regulatory Reform, Commercial and Antitrust Law for the House Judiciary Committee, where he was the lead counsel responsible for bankruptcy and antitrust legislation favorably reported by the Committee and passed by the House of Representatives. In this capacity, he drafted Committee reports, Member statements, amendment responses and related talking points. Prior to working on Capitol Hill, Dattilo was vice president and general counsel to PAR Excellence Systems and an associate at Kirkland & Ellis LLP. He received his J.D. from Notre Dame Law School in 2010 and his B.S. and B.A. in finance and economics from Miami University in 2007.

The “40 Under 40” winners are distinguished by professional achievements and service and were selected by a group of experienced professionals from ABI’s current leadership. Nominations were submitted via the initiative’s website, through which professionals nominated themselves or a colleague. Membership in ABI was not required, and more than 350 candidates were evaluated. Those selected were chosen from both large and small firms from every region of the country, and represent diverse practice areas such as law, finance, accounting, consulting, academia, government and more.
