Scott Gautier Receives ABIs Highest Annual Award

May 7, 2012, Alexandria, Va. — The American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI) presented Scott Gautier of Peitzman Weg LLP (Los Angeles) with its prestigious Annual Service Award during ABI’s 30th Annual Spring Meeting in Washington, D.C. from April 19-21. An ABI member since 2001, Gautier is a member of ABI’s Board of Directors, a co-chair of ABI’s Bankruptcy Battleground West conference and a frequent speaker at ABI events. The Service Award, ABI’s highest membership award, is presented to the ABI member whose contributions over the past year have been extraordinary, as determined by ABI’s Advisory Board of past presidents.

Gautier is a partner at Peitzman Weg LLP, where he represents corporate debtors, creditors, committees, equity-holders and acquirers in distressed financial situations. He also represents and reorganizes mid-market companies and has had significant roles in prominent national bankruptcy cases. Gautier has also served in various roles in a number of out-of-court financial restructuring matters and advises clients on bankruptcy issues in nonbankruptcy matters. He sits on the board of directors for the Southern California Turnaround Managers Association, and he regularly writes and speaks on financial restructuring and insolvency issues for local and national conferences.

Prior to joining Peitzman Weg, Gautier practiced financial restructuring and bankruptcy with top international firms McDermott, Will & Emery LLP in Chicago and Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP in Los Angeles. Recognized by Chambers USA as one of California’s leading bankruptcy practitioners, Gautier is among one of Southern California’s “Super Lawyers” named by Law & Politics and Los Angeles Magazine. He received his B.S.B.A. from Ohio State University and his J.D. with highest honors from the Chicago-Kent College of Law, where he was elected to the Order of the Coif.
