Eli Vonnegut of Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP Selected for ABI’s “40 Under 40”

Alexandria, Va. ABI announces that Eli Vonnegut of Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP (New York) has been selected for ABI’s “40 Under 40,” recognizing 40 of the top insolvency industry professionals under the age of 40. This year’s awardees will be formally recognized at ABI’s 2018 Winter Leadership Conference, taking place Dec. 6-8 at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Vonnegut is a partner in Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP’s Restructuring Group and represents creditors, debtors, agent banks, hedge funds, lenders, bondholders and other strategic parties in a range of corporate restructurings, financing transactions, bankruptcy litigation, asset sales and acquisitions, as well as advisory matters relating to investments in complex distressed businesses. He also advises numerous financial institutions, including all eight of the U.S.’s global systemically important banking groups (G-SIBs) and trade groups in connection with Dodd-Frank Resolution Planning.

Vonnegut is a member and former secretary of the New York City Bar Association’s Committee on Bankruptcy and Corporation Reorganization and a member of ABI’s Secured Credit Committee. He has contributed articles to the ABI Journal and The Banking Law Journal and has spoken on health care restructurings.

Vonnegut received his B.A. with honors from Wesleyan University in 2003 and his J.D. cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School in 2007.

The “40 Under 40” winners are distinguished by professional achievements and service and were selected by a group of experienced professionals from ABI’s current leadership. Nominations were submitted via the initiative’s website, through which professionals nominated themselves or a colleague. Membership in ABI was not required, and more than 200 candidates were evaluated. Those selected were chosen from both large and small firms from every region of the country, and represent diverse practice areas such as law, finance, accounting, consulting, academia, government and more.
