Alexandria, Va. ABI announces that Hayley Harrison of Bast Amron (Miami) has been selected as one of ABI’s “40 Under 40,” ABI’s award program that recognizes 40 of the top insolvency industry professionals under the age of 40. The honorees will be recognized at a special ceremony on Dec. 1 at ABI’s 2023 Winter Leadership Conference at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Harrison is Of Counsel with Bast Amron LLP and handles a wide range of cases focusing on matters involving litigation in bankruptcy cases, assignment for the benefit of creditors cases and out-of-court workouts. She represents a broad spectrum of clients, including bankruptcy trustees, in their administration of chapter 7 debtor cases, including all aspects of analyzing avenues of recovery, the sale of bankruptcy estate assets, and the pursuit of avoidance actions and other litigation claims. Harrison served as the 2021-22 president of the Bankruptcy Bar Association for the Southern District of Florida and has spearheaded the firm’s Business Advantage Forum since its inception, bringing together thought leaders to share best practices. She also served as a member of the Lawyer Advisory Committee for the Southern District of Florida Bankruptcy Court. In addition, she is a member of ABI, the American Bar Association and the International Women’s Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation. Harrison was named by Chambers and Partners as “Up and Coming for Bankruptcy Litigation - Florida” for 2023 and as a “Rising Star” by Florida Super Lawyers from 2016-23, and she was named among Florida Trend’s “Legal Elite” from 2018-22.

Outside of the firm, Harrison is a mentor with the Eleanor R. Cristol and Judge A. Jay Cristol Bankruptcy Pro Bono Assistance Clinic at Miami Law, a member of the Temple Judea Leadership Development Committee, a member of Texas Exes’ South Florida Chapter, and a participant in and fundraiser for Cycle for Survival.

“The members of the 2023 class are an inspiration for the commitment, creativity and ingenuity that they demonstrate in both their careers and communities,” said ABI Executive Director Amy Quackenboss. “This diverse collection of honorees is comprised of future leaders that will drive ABI and the insolvency community forward.”

The “40 Under 40” winners are distinguished by professional achievements and service and were selected by a group of experienced professionals from ABI’s current leadership. Now in its seventh year, the goal of ABI’s “40 under 40” award program is not simply to create a one-time ceremony, but to fully engage those selected as future leaders in the insolvency profession and to build on the initiative each year.
