Jeffrey Fraser of Albertelli Law Selected as One of ABI's 2020 "40 Under 40"

Alexandria, Va. ABI announces that Jeffrey Fraser of Albertelli Law (Tampa, Fla.) has been selected as one of ABI’s “40 Under 40,” ABI’s annual program that recognizes 40 of the top insolvency industry professionals under the age of 40. Honorees will be recognized at a special virtual ceremony on February 18, 2021.

Fraser is a bankruptcy attorney at ALAW and focuses his attention on representing secured lenders and assuring that such creditors’ interests are protected in chapters 7, 11 and 13. He handles contested litigation including, but not limited to, valuation hearings, adversary proceedings, sanction hearings, and any and all other disputed matters in bankruptcy court. Recognizing the importance of collaborative lawyering, Fraser has also been an active participant in Florida’s Mortgage Modification Mediation Program (MMM), where he represents lenders (in a less adversarial capacity) in attempting to afford debtors the most meaningful loan-modification review possible. In such capacity, Fraser has also served as a panelist with a standing chapter 13 trustee, along with a Southern District of Florida judge, to discuss the merits of the MMM Program. He also is the most recent president of the Jamaican-American Bar Association and has helped the organization create mentorship relationships with local law students, and he has helped organize bankruptcy and foreclosure workshops for the South Florida community. Fraser was selected by Super Lawyers as one of its Florida Rising Stars for 2019 and 2020. He graduated from the University of Miami in 2007 and earned his J.D. from the University of Miami in 2010.

“Accomplished in both their careers and communities, the 2020 class of honorees is an inspiration for the future of the insolvency community,” said ABI Executive Director Amy Quackenboss. “We look forward to collaborating with this diverse collection of young leaders in the full range of ABI's activities to advance the profession.”

The “40 Under 40” winners are distinguished by professional achievements and service and were selected by a group of experienced professionals from ABI’s current leadership. Nominations were submitted earlier this year by the candidates themselves or by colleagues via the initiative’s website, http://abi40under40.org. More than 200 candidates, each with outstanding records of professional achievement and community leadership, were evaluated by 20 judges. The majority of the applicants were partners, directors or managing directors at their firms.
