Alexandria, Va. ABI announces that Jody A. Corrales of DeConcini McDonald Yetwin & Lacy, P.C. (Tucson, Ariz.) has been selected as one of ABI’s “40 Under 40,” ABI’s annual program that recognizes 40 of the top insolvency industry professionals under the age of 40. Honorees will be recognized at a special virtual ceremony on February 18, 2021.

Corrales is a shareholder in the Tucson office of DeConcini McDonald Yetwin & Lacy, P.C. She focuses her practice on bankruptcy and creditors’ rights, as well as general civil litigation. Corrales has extensive experience in bankruptcy law, including the representation of creditors and debtors in all facets of chapter 7, 11, 12 and 13 bankruptcy cases, including nondischargeability litigation, valuation disputes and contested plan-confirmation proceedings. She is Board Certified in Consumer Bankruptcy Law by the American Board of Certification, an American Bar Association-accredited program.  Corrales is also certified as a Bankruptcy Specialist by the Arizona Board of Legal Specialization. She devotes considerable time to pro bono endeavors, frequently assisting self-represented litigants in bankruptcy court and federal district court. In 2014, she was awarded the Hon. Eileen W. Hollowell Pro Bono Attorney of the Year Award from the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Arizona. From 2015-18, Corrales served as a Lawyer Representative to the Ninth Circuit Judicial Conference, a role bestowed upon her by the federal judges of the District of Arizona. She now serves on the Conference Executive Committee of the Ninth Circuit Judicial Conference until her term expires in 2022. In June 2020, Corrales was appointed a subchapter V trustee for the District of Arizona. She received her J.D. from the James E. Rogers College of Law at the University of Arizona in 2006 and her B.A. cum laude in political science and psychology in 2002.

The “40 Under 40” winners are distinguished by professional achievements and service and were selected by a group of experienced professionals from ABI’s current leadership. Nominations were submitted earlier this year by the candidates themselves or by colleagues via the initiative’s website, http://abi40under40.org. More than 200 candidates, each with outstanding records of professional achievement and community leadership, were evaluated by 20 judges. The majority of the applicants were partners, directors or managing directors at their firms.
